Spending her early years in Kentucky, Jaye began riding at the age of 4. She spent every opportunity to ride the western horses and retired saddlebreds on her grandfather’s farms, even showing in small western shows and gymkhanas.
After moving to California, Jaye eventually bought a 3 year-old barely-broke Appaloosa gelding that she trained as a reining horse. Moga would become Jaye’s window into the world of Dressage!
With the help of Mary Farnell, Jaye made the move from reining to dressage. Moga learned so quickly that within 5 years, Jaye and he were successfully competing at Grand Prix.
Because of Moga, Jaye has worked with such names as Hilda Gurney, Dr. Reiner Klimke, George Theoderescue, Maria Guenter, Klaus Balkenhol, Johannes Westendarp and Charlotte Dujardin.
Jaye has earned the USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, and has achieved many accomplishments with a variety of horses including
Iroquois, Incognito, Arion, Donnegal, Santana, Wonka, Dance with Me, and Chardonnay, to name a few.
A few of Jaye’s successes are:
5 Time USDF All Breeds Grand Prix Champion – Moga
1984 Long-list Olympic Games
1998 United States Intermediare 1 National Reserve Champion – Iroquois
Multiple USDF Oldenburg Championships
