Although small this year, the GOV Mare and Foal Inspection was a success once again!  I can’t wait to see what the next year brings…

My date for the German Oldenburger Verband Mare and Foal Inspection is August 3, 2016.  Thomas Rhinow will be the Inspector – I welcome you and your horses to join us for a WONDERFUL DAY!!

Recently, at IEL in Los Angeles, Rose Kauffman Skloff roder her Weser – Ems pony mare Roy’s Pippilotta in Second Level Test 3, and WON!!  I found ‘Pippi’ at the Oldenburger Elite Auktion, and brought her home as a Hunter / Jumper pony for Rose… they were very successful for several years before Rose decided to change disciplines with Pippi to learn Dressage.

Rose’s winning score was 68% – the second place score was 52% !!!  We are looking forward to more fun in the future…

Congratulations to Hilda Gurney!! Her 2015 filly Stunning – Sondheim OLD x Winter’s Eve – was just named Premium Foal, and Foal of Distinction by Thomas Rhinow of the German Oldenburger Verband!!!

In addition, the Committee stated that the exceptional quality of this filly would place her in the  German Oldenburger Elite Foal Auktion!

This is the second foal for Hilda by this pairing – the first filly in 2013 (also black) was ALSO named Premium Foal and Foal of Distinction.

Thomas Rhinow has stated that he is very pleased with Sondheim’s produce!!

This past March had Johannes Westendarp, along with his son Matthis, coming to the VERY warm weather of Burbank for a clinic at my barn.  As always, Johannes was not only clear and concise, but full of humor as he worked us all to the max!!!  Matthis, who is at age 13 ALREADY a winner in international jumper shows, came to the States for his first time, so we tried to make it a memorable experience!

At the Mid Winter Dressage Show held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center Feb. 20 – 22, 2015, once again Marta Kauffman / Jaye Cherry’s Oldenburger Elite gelding Schroeder (Sir Donnerhall – Figaro) won ALL of his First Level classes!

Schroeder is really beginning to grow up…

Congratulations to Hilda Gurney on her new filly ‘Stunning’ by Sondheim OLD out of Winter’s Eve!! This is the first 2015 foal of Sondheim OLD this year, and she is truly stunning – black, with chrome, and quite friendly!

At the L. A. Winter Dressage Show held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on Jan. 24 – 25, 2015, Marta Kauffman and Jaye Cherry’s Elite Oldenburger Auktion gelding Schroeder (Sir Donnerhall – Figaro) showed in his first First Level classes.

Schroeder WON ALL OF HIS CLASSES, and ALL of his scores were OVER 70%!

The New Test Clinic with Hilda Gurney, held Nov. 1, 2014 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, was a BIG SUCCESS!

Due to welcome but untimely rain, the clinic was moved from my arena to the Equidome, where about 100 spectators attended a clinic to demonstrate and discuss the new dressage tests, which go into effect Dec. 1, 2014.

Hilda Gurney explained each movement, and had horse and rider combinations show individual movements before riding the complete tests.  I was fortunate to participate as a rider on Marta Kauffman’s Oldenburger Elite Auktion Weser – Ems pony mare Pippilotta, as well as Sheryl Stein’s Oldenburger Elite Auktion gelding Lazlo.

On Nov. 1st, Hilda Gurney will conduct a ‘New Test’ Clinic in my arena at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

New dressage tests have been written, and must be implemented by Dec. 1, 2014, so this is a GREAT opportunity to not only SEE the new tests, but hear Hilda’s insights as to the traps, pitfalls, and ‘handy’ spots before you have to compete them.

This is a ‘must – see’ for any dressage competitor!!
